145'500 Swiss francs for a good cause
On Saturday, 12 June 2021, the charity tournament "Golfen mit Herz" (Golfing with Heart) was again successfully held at the Golf Club Bad Ragaz. However, as there were still event restrictions at that time, the evening event with award ceremony and tombola was only scheduled for last Friday, 27 August. "This year we were able to hand over a cheque for CHF 145,500. We are very proud that the 17th edition of the tournament has once again raised a six-figure sum," says Ralph Polligkeit, Director of Golf & Sports at the Grand Resort Bad Ragaz and member of the board of "Golfen mit Herz". "Because Corona has not stopped at the suffering of families and it was all the more important and beautiful that after last year's break, such a considerable sum could be raised again this year. In total, we have been able to raise over 2.1 million Swiss francs in Bad Ragaz over the years, all of which has gone to support children with cancer and their families in Liechtenstein and Switzerland."
For the 17th edition of the tournament, 160 golfers gathered on the perfectly maintained course of the Golf Club Bad Ragaz on Saturday, 12 June in bright sunshine. For once, however, the pleasure of golf was only secondary for the players on this day. Instead, the day was dedicated to doing a good deed and supporting those who are prevented by illness from taking part in such events.
The successful fundraising tournament was rounded off with last Friday's evening programme in the gladys restaurant of the Bad Ragaz Golf Club, where the three Wackeltenöre from Oldenburg elicited numerous laughs from the guests with their show programme. Friedhelm Gruber, Senator of the Charity Tournaments, took the opportunity at the end of the successful charity day to thank the supporters from Liechtenstein, Austria, Germany and Switzerland.
